Don't you just wish those darn
stubby, worn down pencils would
just learn how to sharpen
themselves ? Well, until they do
( which won't be anytime soon!),
you can use this handy, time-
saving idea. Instead of waiting
for your pencils to wear down
before sharpening, come in five
minutes earlier each morning and
pre-sharpen all of your pencils.
After sharpening, put them in a
small container pointy side up ( be
careful though!) to make sure
they don't get dulled by any
surface contact before they get
used.

A drink of water, a candy bar, or even
a quick stretch can be a much needed
and satisfying break from a
challenging day at the office. These
short breaks offer a perfect
opportunity to socilaize in a way that
isn't disruptive to office workflow.
Appropriate conversation can be both
enjoyable and informative, but many
people wonder what they should do if
they suddenly become involved in or
overhear inappropriate dialogue about
their employer.
The answer is simple: politely say
that you have to go back to your work
area, and at the first opportunity
notify your employer about the
offensive conversation. Keeping
information concealed from your
employer can only lead to mistrust, a
dangerous crack in an otherwise solid
workplace environment. Many
employees ask "I know it's the right
thing to do, but should I divulge the
names of my co-workers who
transgressed the rules of a decent
workplace?" In short "Yes",
your
employer will make sure that they are
treated fairly. Remember we are all
potential employers of the future, lets
make sure we act accordingly. |
Ever get the feeling that your boss is
a little out of sorts?. Maybe its just
the way she says "hello",
maybe
its
that little extra bounce that's missing
from his step. Teri Elrod of Dacula,
Georgia might have found the cure
for what ails all of our employer
friends. Three times a week Teri
bakes a special treat, not only for
her boss, Paul Tomlin, but for the
entire management team on her
floor.
" Its just something nice I can
do to
make our employers lives just a little
bit better." Teri, pictured above,
with a 22 inch "Happy Tuesday"
cake
hopes that she will inspire others
to
do the same.
